About the Job
Are you a seasoned proposal writer with a knack for winning state and local government contracts? We're looking for a Senior Proposal Writer to join our team and take charge of crafting compelling responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other vital government inquiries.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Write responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs,) and other Government requests.
- Create compliant and compelling responses for assigned proposal sections/topics.
- Create associated graphics, charts, tables, etc.,in support of proposal development.
Tailor proposal content to address client pain points and showcase the company's unique value proposition.
- Review and edit proposal responses for consistency, compliance and win theme incorporation.
- Research relevant corporate, project, client and industry statistics for proposal responses.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders, to gather necessary information for proposals
As a Senior Proposal Writer, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Leverage your expertise in state and local government proposals to create compliant and persuasive responses that highlight our company's unique value proposition.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather essential information and insights, ensuring that our proposals address client pain points effectively.
- Independently solicit feedback from subject matter experts and internal stakeholders to refine and enhance proposal drafts.
- Work closely with graphics designers to integrate visually appealing elements that support proposal development.
- Maintain a keen eye for detail, reviewing and editing proposals for consistency, compliance, and alignment with win themes.
- Contribute to the development of a comprehensive content library to streamline future proposal efforts.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- 5-7 years of relevant professional experience required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
- 5-7 years of experience in writing state and local government proposals.
- Proven ability to work independently, demonstrating strong initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards.
