My client is an ISO 9001:2015 registered, employee-owned (ESOP), contract manufacturer of precision components serving customers in the medical device, connector, laser, industrial hardware, defense, and many other industries.
Position Summary:
The Senior Quality Inspector is responsible for visual and mechanical inspection of components and machined parts. Performing incoming, in-process and final inspections in a fast-paced environment in accordance with established procedures, equipment, inspection methodologies to determine conformance with product specifications.
The Senior Quality Inspector records data accurately while maintaining quality inspection records. Will initiate NCR’S when non-conformances are identified and is responsible for overall product quality activities. May Lead other less skilled inspectors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform visual and mechanical inspection of precision machine parts, components and assembled products
• Process associated documentation including process tags, rework tags, non-conforming material documents and other process relate documentation
• Record inspection results in writing and utilizing software applications as applicable
• Perform production first article, in-process and final inspections using defined inspection equipment and methodologies
• Work from approved inspection plans, blueprints, and technical drawings
• Work with others in a collaborative, team environment
• Once trained ability to self-direct and take initiative
Qualifications:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 5 + years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Experience working with precision machined parts preferred
• Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and inspection instructions in English
• Ability to perform visual inspection of small components with or without magnification
• Must be able to understand and interpret geometric tolerances
• Familiar with the use of precision measurement instruments including micrometers, calipers, thread measuring tools, height gages, optical comparators
• Proficient in basic math and computer skills
• Proficient in attention to detail and documentation
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral
