Senior Regulatory and Licensing Analyst - Atlantic Health System

About the Job
Responsible for evaluating the bi-monthly NJ Register issue for published rulemaking containing rule proposals, rule adoptions, and public notices and determining the potential impact on AHS.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Leads the process for all annual licensing renewal applications submitted to NJ DOH or DHS for AHS's acute care, ambulatory sites, and specific program licenses, e.g. behavior health outpatient.
2. Leads the process for license amendment applications for changes to licensed bed categories, services, and specific equipment, e.g. PET, CT, MRIs. Leads the process for license applications for AHS's joint ventures requiring transfer/change of ownership, change in ownership interest, or change in location.
3. Leads the process for NJ DOH notifications for major equipment replacement or additions at all acute care and ambulatory facilities. Attends (virtual) all NJ DOH public meetings, including SHPB, HCAB, and Public Health Council, prepare a written analyses of relevant content, and notifies appropriate AHS staff.
4. Develops a tracking system for all AHS facility operating licenses; including renewal date(s), Medicare and Medicaid ID numbers, and inventory of programs/services provided at each location.
5. Requires working with AHS corporate staff; hospital departments including administration, operations, facility/construction; ambulatory operations, AHS legal department and NJ DOH and NJ DHS staff. Requires ongoing collaboration with appropriate DOH and DHS staff members regarding licensing,
Strategy Implementation:
• Track initiatives included in the Integrated Strategic and Financial Plan and other planning documents.
• Support identification of barriers to timely implementation of strategic initiatives.
• Facilitating conversations and working with senior leaders to identify performance improvement areas.
Coordination of Key Survey Responses:
• Assist in compiling AHS’ responses to high-value industry surveys when such surveys cross multiple organizational areas.
• Assists in the annual US News: Best Hospitals scorecard analysis for system hospitals.
