Job Description:
As a Senior Research Associate at Codify Therapeutics, you will play an important role in our growing organization, both to meet R&D needs and and be a key point-person for laboratory management. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and be a part of the early scientific team building a new and exciting therapeutic modality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, clone, and validate novel guide nucleic acids in gene editing systems using expertise in RNA biology, molecular biology, and cell biology
- Perform DNA, RNA, and protein biochemical assays not limited to PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, and western blotting
- Perform cell culture, including cell maintenance and manipulation; as well as generation of new cell lines using gene editing systems and lentiviral systems
- Perform cell assays, including flow sorting, fluorescent imaging, luminescent assays, and viability assays
- Management skills: Day-to-day lab management and organization
- Research skills: Data analysis and visualization; Maintain clear and detailed electronic notebook; Work well in a collaborative environment; Communicate findings and present results at internal meetings
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in chemical biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, chemistry, or related science and a minimum 5 years of relevant industry or academic experience; Or, Master’s degree and minimum 3 years of relevant industry or academic experience.
- Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture
