Intertek's Building Science Solutions (BSS) group is primarily focused on building enclosure consulting, commissioning, and field performance testing for new construction and retrofit projects.
What are we looking for?
The Senior Roof Inspector is responsible for conducting roof surveys/inspections including moisture surveys, roof quality assurance inspections, manufacturer's warranty audits and prepare reports for the perspective survey/inspection. Will also assist in pre-design surveys and perform monitoring of ongoing installation projects. This position will require frequent local and overnight travel as business needs permit.
Shift/Schedule: Monday-Friday as business needs dictate, may vary slightly
What you'll do:
- Conduct visual roof surveys, roof moisture surveys, roof quality assurance inspections, manufacturer's warranty audits and prepare reports
- Assist in pre-design surveys, to include performing intrusive investigations to document existing conditions
- Perform full time or part time monitoring of ongoing roof installation projects.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, pre-construction meetings, project meetings, and client interfacing activities
- Local and overnight travel, as required for assigned projects and tasks, could be frequent

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- MUST have 10 to 15 years'+ of documented experience in commercial and institutional roofing construction
- MUST have technical background in roofing systems, elastomeric sealants, sheet metal and coatings
- Understand the roofing installation process for multiple roof systems to include but not limited to built-up, single-ply and coating systems
- Thorough technical knowledge and expertise of roofing trade practices and principles is required
- Experience with multiple commercial roofing manufacturer's systems.
- Proficient and experienced in surveys, roof design, sampling, and testing
- Preferred Computer skills including word processing, email, electronic file management, etc.
- Must be detail oriented, organized, reliable and self-directed
- Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and specifications
- Ability to perform office tasks and physical labor tasks
- Ability to perform work from ladders, boom-lifts, roof levels, etc.
- Ability to develop and maintain good rapport with clients, designers, contractors, etc.
- Willingness to travel 25% of the time or more
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:
- Preferred documented experience as a foreman for 5+ years
