Job Summary:
As a Senior Sales Manager at our organization, you will play a crucial role in leading our Wedding and Lines of Business strategy and Sales Managers with an enterprise-wide mindset that aligns with Vail Resorts' Sales vision and mission. Your responsibilities will encompass contributing to developing strategic priorities, demonstrating self-awareness, providing exemplary leadership engagement, and applying critical thinking to position the business for success on an enterprise scale. You will be instrumental in exceeding team goals, managing complex sales opportunities, fostering self-development, and promoting cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will exhibit agility, adaptability, and a proactive approach to change, entrepreneurial thinking, initiative, and a solid team-oriented mindset.
Job Responsibilities:
Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who can:
+ Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future booking activities, including sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc. within the wedding market and our regional hotel partner market to drive future sales.
+ Be familiar with the overall market - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, etc., and know how to sell against them.
+ Execute incoming group sales lead conversion process, including evaluating, qualifying, and quantifying material leads, engaging with clients, and developing timely proposals while working with internal stakeholders to meet and exceed customer preferences while following Vail Resort’s specific advance commitment strategy. Contract group business using strong negotiating skills and creative selling techniques.
+ Provide customer intelligence in evaluating market economic trends, competitors' strengths and weaknesses, supply and demand, etc., and know-how to sell against them and may lead to changes in sales strategy to meet or exceed customer expectations.
+ Maintain and analyze accurate data within the assigned market for all products sold. Track account activity within the market in FDC and update and maintain contact information to ensure our database is accurate. Responsibility for internal system support, including maintenance, training, and development.
+ Support and execute strategic plans that drive business growth and align with organizational goals while demonstrating a deep understanding of the business, industry, and market trends. Develop and implement go-to-market sales and marketing plans within assigned markets and subsequently carry through to execution, measurement, and optimization.
+ Build and maintain strong connections with team members, peers and stakeholders fostering collaboration and synergy, while promoting inclusivity and innovation within the team and organization. Create a culture of excellence, accountability, and teamwork.
+ Embrace and lead organizational enterprise mindset for driving change, adapting strategies to evolving market conditions.
+ Achieve and exceed team and individual goals, which include revenue and competency targets. Work with the sales teams to evaluate and close the best opportunities based on market conditions and Resort needs.
+ Other duties and support of other departments may be required.
Job Requirements:
+ 4-year degree recommended
+ Proven success in a similar role and environment.
+ Combination of education and sales training may also be considered
+ Minimum 1 years wedding industry experience; preferably in sales or service or proven success in a similar role and environment.
+ Minimum 2 years’ experience in a destination resort sales role
+ 2 years’ experience in managing staff at a supervisory level
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Work Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint
+ Experience within Delphi FDC (training will be provided to the right candidate.)
+ Proficient in spoken and written English
+ Physical location in Colorado and within a commutable distance of Summit County
+ Flexibility to travel and/or work within the resorts as needed
+ Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed, based on business demands
+ Phone required for client-facing roles – phone plan is available (candidate must either opt into company plan or assume responsibility for a business phone solution.)
+ Company-use IT Technology Kits are provided for job requirements. Any additional items will be at employees’ expense. IT Technology Kits include: Dell laptop and charger, wireless mouse, headset, Vail Resorts branded backpack
