Senior Scheduler (Construction)
KEITH is seeking a Construction Senior Scheduler for the Broward County School Board SMART Bond Program. This position is responsible for developing master project schedules detailed design, engineering and construction critical path schedules (CPM) via Primavera. Update and maintain schedules, provide variance reports identify and record the impact of work performed, and/or not performed as scheduled. project planning, scheduling planning resource planning, meetings and progress check-ins, budget and cash flow reporting, and monitoring project costs. Responsibilities include collaborating with team leaders, project managers, construction coordinators, architects, engineers, and contractors working on the program. Develops, generates, updates, and provides overall management of various types of program master and project schedules, site staging, and logic plans.
Essential Job Functions:
- Work with contractors to establish goals, scope, workplans.
- Review contractor baseline schedules for reasonableness, prepare reports on schedule deficiencies. Review contractor schedule submittals for conformance with contract and constructability.
- Review baseline milestone bid schedules to achieve NTP issuance and update submissions for adherence to recognized good scheduling practices.
- Project based tasks to include fact-finding to detailed analysis, quantification of delay and damages, economic and strategy formation.
- Facilitate, review, evaluate, and reject or approve contractor recovery schedules.
- Responsible for assembling data for schedule updating.
- Familiar with construction contracting and the scheduling implications of contract terms.
- Conducts or assists in performance measurement and associated schedule trends.
- Provides analysis of schedule data to identify key project issues.
- Assists in procedure development and implementation.
- Updates and produces scheduling management reports.
- Able to resource load schedule and perform remedial schedule risk analysis.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of WBS and helps ensure that project coding is effectively used.
- Assists in tracking corrective actions.
- Able to use drawings and specifications for schedule development.
- Validate that Contractor Schedule Updates include Board approved Change Orders for time.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
- On behalf of the Program, initiate and maintain liaison with Program’s PM, various Architect / Engineers designers and construction contractors awarded construction contracts on the facilitate construction activities at the various school facilities.
- Assist the Program with project procurement and project integration management.
- Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
- Represent the Program in project meetings; assist in negotiations/strategy meetings, etc.
- Assisting with RFIs, reviewing submittals / shop drawings and addressing construction field administration.
- Field review, oversight and evaluation of the progress and quality of the construction activities and personnel to determine in general if the work is being performed in a manner indicating that the work when completed will be in conformance with the Contract Documents.
- Communicate project status to Program staff for their feedback, in order to ensure the project aligns with program needs.
- Routinely review bid specifications, submittals, bulletins, change orders, schedules and other documents.
- Participate in conflict resolution, including recommending corrective actions, including travel to schools and work sites throughout the District.
- Review and approve pay requests submitted by contractors.
- Provide outstanding customer service and uses positive interpersonal communication skills.
- Perform and promote all activities in compliance with the equal employment and nondiscrimination policies of The School Board of Broward County, Florida.
- Participates in training programs to enhance individual skills and proficiency related to the job responsibilities.
- Ensures adherence to safety rules and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Any combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the position duties, such as:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- 10 years of experience.
- Experience in schedule preparation, schedule integration, and schedule analysis;
- Demonstrated working knowledge of current industry CPM Scheduling software packages, such as Primavera P6 Professional and Microsoft Project.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint);
- Experience in effectively reporting and communicating schedule variances and recommendations to wider project team.
- EVM analysis experience.
- Experience in preparing high level project reports and documentation.
- Engineering, Construction, Construction Management or other related fields.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
