Culmen International is seeking a Senior Scientist III – Wound Infection Microbiologist to join our team in Silver Springs, Maryland.
What You’ll Do in Your New Role:The Wound Infection Microbiologist shall have expertise in bacterial pathogenesis, microbiology, ESKAPEE pathogens, animal model development, immunology, monoclonal antibody discovery and development, and bacterial therapeutic target identification and development. The senior scientist III is responsible for performing a variety of laboratory procedures and works as part of a scientific team to advance the understanding of biological questions to contribute to the advancement of product development.
- Performing a variety of laboratory procedures and works as part of a scientific team to advance the understanding of biological questions to contribute to the advancement of product development
- Familiar with the concepts, practices, and procedures in fields such as microbiology, molecular biology, monoclonal antibody discovery and development, immunology, vaccinology, clinical trials, bioinformatics, and pathogen discovery
- Shall be capable of working independently and leading teams to resolve complex scientific questions to methodically advance the development of products
- Actively pursues the scientific objectives of the WID and contributes significantly to key strategic planning and the execution of future studies
- Leads the analysis and interpretation of data; writes proposals; solicits grants (e.g., track record of funded grant proposals); establishes collaborations with other entities (e.g., universities); and presents data at meetings
- Must be self-motivated and capable of working independently
- The Wound Infection Microbiologist is granted a wide degree of creativity and latitude and typically reports to a unit or department head
- Ph.D.
- 10 years of experience in a designated field (e.g., microbiology, immunology, bacterial pathogenesis, animal model development, monoclonal antibody discovery and development, vaccinology, clinical trials, pathogen discovery)
