About the Job
Minimum qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.5 years of experience with Digital Forensics, Incident Response or Incident Management.5 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols.5 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.Preferred qualifications:Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.Experience working with government agreements, government customers, FedRAMP compliance or NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology).Experience with Digital Forensic analysis.Experience with Python, Go, C/C++ or Java.Understanding of legal, information security and privacy frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, Safe Harbor Frameworks, GDPR).Excellent organizational, prioritization and multitasking skills

As a Security Engineer, you help protect network boundaries, keep computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks and provide security services to protect highly sensitive data like passwords and customer information
Security Engineers work directly with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions
You also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.You use your industry experience to own and drive the resolution of complex security incidents, policy questions and technical security issues.As a member of Security Response, you’ll use broad security experience, detection, forensics and incident response knowledge to investigate and assess escalations, then use professional emergency management procedures to lead teams of engineers, lawyers, executives and others toward fast, effective responses to any situation.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $161,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities Coordinate and drive resolution on a diverse range of incidents.Support computer forensic needs of incidents.Analyze causes to identify trends and systematic issues.Develop excellence in Incident Response through tools and infrastructure and preparing teams across Google through exercises and training.Manage relationships across the company such as legal, engineering, communications, etc.
