Senior Service Technician - New England Air Systems

About the Job
New England Air Systems is looking for a Service Technician to serve our Vermont and New Hampshire customers. A strong applicant will have have 10+ years of experience with HVAC/R, the necessary certifications and experience to include large HVAC, refrigeration systems, and chillers to service our West Lebanon location. The successful candidate is a good problem solver, has high attention to detail and strives for excellence both in execution and in customer satisfaction.
ln this role, you will be responsible for responding to New England Air Systems customers’ needs by performing preventative maintenance inspections and emergency service on heating, cooling and refrigeration systems.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities
- Perform routine and emergency service on commercial/industrial heating and air conditioning equipment.
- Perform routine and emergency service on commercial and process refrigeration systems, including rack refrigeration.
- Perform maintenance on commercial/industrial heating and air conditioning equipment.
- Perform maintenance on commercial and process refrigeration systems.
- Communicate regularly with the dispatcher regarding job information and status.
- Interact in a professional manner with customers to answer their questions.
- Understand and apply local & federal codes (including but not limited to NFPA 54, NFPA31, EPA, and CSD1).
- Troubleshoot and repair all portions of the equipment required.
- Competency in reviewing engineering drawings.
- Check and document the integrity of all components and their installation.
- Prepare records and reports.
- Submit requests for supplies and equipment.
- Understand operation of stand-alone type controls.
- Technician will be required to apply proper refrigeration practice, also understand and apply proper brazing techniques.
- Accurately and effectively fill out start up reports and EPA forms.
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of HVAC systems to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Utilize advanced troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and resolve technical issues, minimizing downtime and optimizing system performance.
- Interpret technical documentation to facilitate accurate installation and maintenance procedures.
- Provide ongoing support to clients and internal teams, offering expert guidance and assistance to address any concerns or challenges.
- Maintain meticulous records of service activities, including maintenance schedules, equipment specifications, and client communications.
- Troubleshoots and resolves basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
- Provide on-the-job-training to service apprentices when required.
- Complete all timecards, work orders and purchase orders in timely manner.

Qualifications
- At least ten years related experience required.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- Universal EPA certification
- Vermont Type S electrical license
- VT and/or NH Natural gas certification
- VT and/or NH LP gas certification
- NH and/or VT NORA Silver oil certification
- Valid driver’s license
