Be part of a cross-functional team that designs and supports the future of the North American Freight Railroad Market. You will be working closely with subject matter experts, architects, developers, and testers to design, develop, and support mission-critical systems that form the backbone of technologies like network optimization and an autonomous rail network.
We're looking for self-driven individuals who are motivated to learn new things. You should have a strong sense of ownership through all stages of a project up to and including final customer review and sign-off.

What your day-to-day will look like:
- Help negotiate priorities and resolve conflicts among project stakeholders (such as customers, product management, and engineering)
- Represent requirements information in graphical forms that augment textual representations in natural language, including using modeling languages already established in the development organization
- Critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, establish appropriate tracing mechanisms and links between project artifacts, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements
- Communicate information effectively to customers, marketing, managers, and technical staff
To thrive in this role, you have:
- 10+ years of experience in Systems Engineering and Software Architecture
- Deep understanding of distributes systems, design patterns, architectural styles, and trade-offs
- Experience with cloud technologies
- Experience in designing and supporting mission critical systems
- Experience in balancing and prioritizing work based on needs from multiple stakeholders
- Communication skills to talk with individuals and groups about their needs and ask the right questions
- Listening skills to understand what people say and to detect what they might be hesitant to say
- Observational skills to validate data obtained via other techniques and expose new areas for elicitation
Good to have:
- Experience in the Railroad Domain
- Experience with CENELEC (EN 50128 / 50129), US IEEE 1483 / 1012, AREMA Section 17, or similar

Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. Details regarding our benefits can be found here: https://www.benefitsquickstart.com/siemens/index.html . The base salary range for this position in Jacksonville, FL is $146,400 - $172,200. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications. The annual incentive target is 15% of the base salary.
