Position Overview
Responsibilities
- Thoroughly examine existing C# and .NET applications to understand their architectures, dependencies, and integration points.
- Lead the re-architecting of existing .NET/C# applications for optimal performance and security in the AWS cloud environment.
- Implement and adapt applications to meet stringent federal security and compliance standards.
- Collaborate closely with the DevOps team to integrate development practices with Git and associated tooling into the migration process.
- Provide expertise in migrating and adapting applications from traditional infrastructures to AWS cloud services.
- Maintain and ensure high-quality coding standards and practices.
- Identify potential challenges and compatibility issues related to cloud migration.
- Develop comprehensive migration strategies and plans for each application.
- Modify applications as needed to align with AWS infrastructure and best practices.
- Optimize code for performance and scalability within the cloud environment.
- Leverage AWS tools and SDKs to effectively manage and deploy applications.
- Develop cloud-native features and functionalities as needed.
- Conduct unit and performance testing to ensure migrated applications function as intended within the AWS cloud.
- Prioritize security and compliance measures throughout the migration process.
- Communicate technical progress and challenges clearly to stakeholders.
- Document processes and best practices for reference during future cloud migrations.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development with a strong background in C# and .NET frameworks.
- Proven experience in migrating and re-architecting applications to AWS cloud environments.
- Familiarity with AWS services and cloud architecture best practices.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and AWS services.
- Experience working within federal environments, adhering to various security and compliance standards.
- Strong knowledge of DevOps principles and experience with Git and associated tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate) are a plus.
Clearance Requirements
U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Work Location
United States - Remote
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $105,600 - $132,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
