Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
This position plans and develops security measures to safeguard information against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure. Works with management and other personnel to identify best practices as a senior SME covering the security aspects of AWS Cloud services with a focus on API Authentication and Authorization services in AWS. This position leads less experienced technical staff on the technical aspects of App and Information Security architecture, development, and operations.
- Produce enterprise-level designs for API authorization and authentication in AWS. Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and operations teams to provide architectural and technical guidance. Application developer experience is highly desirable.
- Lead steady state and continuous improvement efforts for Authorization services for globally diverse solutions. Including enhancements to a custom-built API Authorizer utility.
- Coordinate between infrastructure, application, and threat monitoring teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions.
- Create and maintain system documentation for authorization and authentication technologies, including installation, configuration, and appropriate troubleshooting steps.
- Developed, documented, and enforced the standards, security procedures, and controls for access to ensure integrity of API related systems.
- Support integration, authentication and authorization projects.
- Own and lead solution implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and conversions. Recommends solutions as appropriate.
This role can sit in Atlanta, GA or Minneapolis, MN (full time remote is not an option)

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
- Minimum of 7 years work experience in IT with at least 4 years of software and development hands-on experience working with DevSecOps technologies and build-to-manage environments as a developer.
- Understanding and experience of webservices and APIs, and microservices architecture and deployment
- AWS/Cloud Experience. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Chef, Puppet, Ansible etc.), CI/CD tools (Tekton, AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins etc.), Cloud Development Kits, the Serverless Application Model and Cloud Formation Templates.
- Knowledge of automated test frameworks
- Knowledge of secure coding standards.
- Experience with build-to-manage and DevOps models
- Experience with source control, build tools and GIT (GitHub, Bitbucket or other)
- Experience with Agile methodologies
- Experience in working with 12-factor methodology and understanding its benefits, and able to demonstrate appropriate patterns to other team members
- Experienced with Cloud Native architectures
- Demonstrated understanding in formulating strategies, alternatives, and recommendations in information security management
- Prior application development experience in Java and JSON
- Ability to clearly communicate with peers, business analysts, and subject matter experts
- Ability to lead and mentor junior team members and colleagues, and support leadership directives
- Familiarity with core Identity and Access Management concepts for authentication and authorization.
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
- Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
- Key industry certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP and cloud security certification for Azure & Ping Identity platforms
- Familiarity with Attribute-Based Access Control or Policy-Based Access Control
- Familiarity with Identity Federation protocols such as OAuth2 and OpenID Connect (OIDC)
- Experience with authorization technologies and concepts (Policy Decision Point, XACML, Open Policy Agent, etc.)
- Experience across IT domains such as application development, infrastructure, technical support and operations, or continuity of business
- Experience with Monitoring tools (Prometheus, CloudWatch, SumoLogic, Splunk, New Relic, Dynatrace etc.)
- A history of driving transformational change
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field.
