Senior Software Development Manager, IBM Corporation, San Jose, CA (Up to 100% telecommuting permitted): Oversee a dedicated customer adoption engineering team that responds quickly to escalations for key customers. Help customers properly purchase and configure systems as to meet their storage requirements. Work with computer hardware engineers to integrate hardware and software systems, develop specifications and performance requirements. Maintain databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team. Support existing customers with their Ceph issues. Work with software engineers assigned to customer adoption and ensure they successfully meet customer needs. Work with customers to ensure the products they purchase meet their needs. Partner with the Ceph upstream communities to develop and review patches and test cases. Analyze upstream development against current, customer reported defects, and develop patches to resolve issues. Use command line tools to diagnose network, filesystem, and storage issues, and record customer interactions to detail investigation efforts, trouble-shooting. Utilize: Ceph, Python, Git, Linux, C/C++, Ansible, Cosbench and Containers. Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related and five (5) year of experience as a Software Engineer or related. Five (5) year of experience must include utilizing Ceph, Python, Git, Linux, C/C++, Ansible, Cosbench and Containers. $259,625.00 to $289,200.00 per year.
