Azure Linux is Microsoft’s first party open-source Linux Operating System (OS), used extensively in production for a multitude of Azure services and Microsoft products – including a growing number of GPU and AI/ML scenarios
You will be part of the team focused on expanding our ability to onboard new hardware at the cutting edge and provide ML solution with the latest innovations to Azure Linux, and you will have the opportunity to be involved in improving every aspect of the Operating System (OS) – from driver and security, to networking, storage, and ML stack and performance.In Core OS, we are responsible for the Operating Systems that power Azure, Microsoft's Linux OS, the platforms for Windows Client, Xbox, and our Windows Server ecosystem – through all of these, we support every one of our cloud businesses and billions of customers around the world

These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings.Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.Technical experience / background in Linux Operating Systems development (boot, kernel, drivers, networking, storage, etc).Accelerated networking and storage experience.Experience with building and debugging AI infrastructure.Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S
is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation
