Job Duties and Responsibilities:Your team will be..
- Building an enterprise-wide cloud-native, web-scale platform and the tooling that surrounds it, that will be adopted by engineering teams across various business units within DISH
- Driving a customer-centric, highly personalized approach to the evolution of our platform
- Continuing our efforts to realize a robust hybrid cloud infrastructure
- Designing and building service catalog, software templates, and developer portal offering to enable self-service
- Enabling the core platform services for our organization to consume AWS, Kubernetes, service discovery, DNS, IPAM, load balancing, etc.
- Maintain, and optimize cloud platform hosting massive, complex systems for performance, security, reliability, and scalability
- Build & Manage advanced AWS services SSO, Organization, Service Catalog, Step Functions, Account Factory, Control Tower - Landing Zone
- Innovate automation capabilities in the cloud platform and create new feature sets as per the application patterns for hosting in cloud
- Helping application development, operations, testing, and delivering software in an agile environment, continuously; supporting infrastructure teams realize what being “cloud native” is all about
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploying, automating, maintaining, and managing AWS cloud-based production system, to ensure the availability, performance, scalability, and security of productions systems
- Build, release, and configuration management of production systems
- Pre-production Acceptance Testing to help assure the quality of our products/services
- System troubleshooting and problem-solving across platform and application domains
- Suggesting architecture improvements, recommending process improvements
- A true believer in cloud-native, hybrid cloud, and continuous deployment
- Evaluating new technology options and vendor products
- Ensuring critical system security through the use of best-in-class cloud security solutions
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology; a Master’s degree is preferred, or equivalent professional experience
- 10+ years of professional enterprise development experience
- 4+ years experience using a broad range AWS technologies (e.g. EKS, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, SQS, Lambda, CloudTrail, Systems Manager, KMS, Kinesis Streams) to develop and maintain an Amazon AWS based cloud solution, with an emphasis on Well-Architected Framework
Skills and Qualifications:
- Hands-on design and coding experience on EKS, Rancher, Docker, Helm, Istio, ELK, Prometheus, Terraform, and Python
- Kubernetes – Strong building, troubleshooting, and management experience
- Preferred Skills on Argo, Gitlab, Vault, Consul, Ansible, API Gateway, Kafka, DevOps concepts
- DevOps: Experience as a DevOps Engineer in a 24x7 uptime Amazon AWS environment, including automation experience with configuration management tools. CI/CD process setup and support (Jenkins AWS CodePipeline, GitLab, etc.)
- Industry certifications in Kubernetes (CKA and/or CKAD), DevOps, and Cloud Platforms are highly desirable
- Have experience building and managing hybrid cloud platforms supporting large, highly available enterprise-grade applications
- Scripting Skills:
- AWS Infrastructure-as-a-Code using Terraform scripting
- Strong scripting (e.g. Python ) and automation skills
- Operating Systems: Linux/Ubuntu system administration
- Monitoring Tools: Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g. Prometheus, New Relic, Pager Duty)
- Networking: Understanding network topologies and common network protocols and serviceDNSDNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, SMTP)

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
