Material Technologies is expanding its reach into B2C with the launch of DesignShop. DesignShop is reinventing the home design process by taking the most exciting elements of Pinterest and combining them with a massive library of home design materials from hundreds of the country's best brands, all of which are instantly available for overnight sampling. DesignShop's shoppable inspiration is highly accurate and when coupled with its hyper-realistic interactive design tools, allows users to create beautiful scenes comprised of any material in its library. About the role: This position will sit in the Boston, MA area once per week.
DesignShop is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build the backend integrations for a brand new consumer facing website. You will be a part of multi-disciplinary team creating innovative products with state of the art technology tools. You will be working closely with the backend engineering team to define standards/frameworks for integrations. You will also be responsible for shaping the developer experience by focusing on automation and CI/CD. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated thought leader who can work independently with minimal supervision as well collaborate with multiple teams as needed.
What you'll do:
- Develop and maintain the technology stack (Kafka, Airflow, WMS, Redshift, Commerce Tools & other 3P tools) to include commercial or open-source integration platforms
- Develop EA standards, data architecture standards, EA governance frameworks, and system integration standards
- Provide expert advice to project teams on use of integration technology, data architecture and modeling, system architecture including integration best practices
- Contribute to the integration with CI/CD pipelines for efficient updates.
- Contribute to the integration of real-time messaging systems.
- Work with project teams in definition of requirements for integration strategies of their projects into the Enterprise Architecture
- Manage internal resources as well as augmented or externally sourced team members
- Oversee development and support of batch and back-end processes related to the application portfolio (CommerceTools, Kafka, RabittMQ, Enterworks)
- Assist with incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem resolution
What you'll bring:
- BA/BS degree preferred, and 5+ years if integration or/and data engineering.
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture, systems architecture, integration architecture and data architecture standards, frameworks, and practices
- Experience with Golang, Java and SQL
- Knowledge of common system integration methods and technologies including REST APIs, GraphQL, Business process automation and orchestration tools and software
- Expertise in solution design and development, vendor management, enterprise application support, in addition to strong business understanding and project management
- Experience with the implementation of Continuous Integration practices and tooling to support automated build, delivery, and regression test of commercial software
- Experience working with API's from commercial software applications
- A passion for all things tech and has a drive to experiment with new technologies to see where they can benefit the business
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience of working with Infrastructure as a code is a plus.
