About the Job
We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer for our client, who will play a key role in software development for embedded systems
This position involves a variety of tasks, including software requirements analysis, architecture and design, implementation, documentation, hardware-software integration, and software verification testing.
Develop, maintain, upgrade, and port embedded product software and support software to enhance project/system functionality.
Mentor junior software engineers, fostering their development in software design, testing, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
Collaborate effectively with Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, and Systems Engineering teams.
Ensure technical approaches align with established engineering principles and practices.
Deliver product outcomes that meet customer needs, while adhering to technical, system, performance, process, and quality requirements.
Skills Required:
Proficiency in object-oriented design, C++ coding, and unit testing of embedded software.
Experience with version control and issue tracking tools.
Active security clearance
Skills Preferred:
Experience in developing and troubleshooting communications, device drivers, and IO interfaces.
Familiarity with integrating or testing software with real-time operating systems such as VxWorks and Linux/Unix derivatives.
Knowledge of requirements analysis and traceability.
Experience Required:
Minimum of 4 years in real-time embedded software development and/or software verification testing, with at least 2 years focused on software design, coding, and unit testing.
Experience Preferred:
Experience with architectural software design using tools like Magic Draw, Enterprise Architect, or similar model-based engineering tools.
Familiarity with NI TestStand for setting up and maintaining automated software verification testing environments.
Understanding of weapon systems, munitions, and combat vehicle functionality.
Experience with GitLab or other CI/CD tools.
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
