We started out small and remember that encouraging people to do their best is how we expanded to our current scale.
If you want to learn about the intersection of technology, innovation, and good old-fashioned teamwork, we might be a good fit for you. Wherever you start in the company, our hope is that is a launching point to higher achievement. At ThriftBooks, your success is up to you.
ThriftBooks is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep technical expertise, a natural curiosity, and a drive to see their work to deliver large meaningful change to our employees and customers. You will focus on developing new tools that re-think how we approach work in our fulfillment centers. Your work will intersect with new technologies in image processing, computer vision, LLMs, full-text search, and robotics. You are a software engineer first but are interested in learning and exploring in other areas as needed.
The ideal candidate will be well-versed in .NET/C#, SQL Server, and front-end frameworks like React. Beyond this core stack, you should also enjoy exploring new technologies, troubleshooting across platforms, and integrating diverse third-party solutions and APIs.
We’re looking for someone who combines technical depth with an eagerness to learn and innovate.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Design and develop software tools that drive efficiency, automation, and scalability within our fulfillment centers
- Create solutions using .NET/C# and SQL Server that enhance operational performance across the environment
- Collaborate with fulfillment center stakeholders to gather requirements, identify pain points, and deliver impactful, user-centered tools
- Take ownership of projects from concept to production—integrating, troubleshooting, and delivering solutions end-to-end to ensure smooth, reliable deployment and performance
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering with a preferred focus on .NET/C#, and JavaScript
- Strong knowledge of relational databases—multi-table querying, grouping, optimization, and schema design
- Experience with front-end frameworks or libraries, such as Blazor, React, or JavaScript
- Familiarity with the “full stack” of development, understanding how back-end and front-end elements interact and function together
- Curiosity and readiness to explore new APIs, tools, technologies, and techniques.
Remote from AZ or WA. If you prefer in-person/hybrid, our offices are in the Seattle area.
