Job Title: Senior Specialist, Project EngineeringJob ID: 11482Job Location: S&S – Mason, OHSchedule: 9/80 R Job Description: The Senior Project Engineer position involves the technical leadership and oversight of the requirements, design, analysis, development, test & evaluation of electrical and mechanical systems that support infrared products. Responsibilities include managing program risk, day to day execution of production programs and completion of production milestones. Individual will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplined engineering team. Work closely with the Program Manager, assigned engineering team, manufacturing, quality and other departments as necessary to expedite project completion and most importantly meet the customer expectations. Recent experience with team leadership experience is required. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Serves as lead on technical proposals and program executionProactively manages risk, including identification and mitigation plans, and issue elevation and resolutionEffectively communicates status to stakeholders, including organizational leadership, multifunctional teams, and the customerSolves problems with a calm sense of urgencyDemonstrates operational discipline and ownershipMaintains scope control through disciplined change managementResponsibilities include system engineering and requirements, management of new and existing hardware products, new development project executionCoordinates all technical aspects of the project to meet scope, schedule and design to cost goals Performs technical analysis/feasibility for new product specifications, evaluates customer specifications, and supports cost/technical proposal generation Uses project management practices for resource planning, personnel oversight, and cost/schedule tracking Ensures that all engineering-related internal processes are followed by the project design team Leads team which completes Requirements Definition, Requirement Management, Technical Solution, Product Integration, Verification and ValidationInterfaces effectively with people at all levels and from diverse technical backgrounds Serves as the technical point of contact for customers Provides leadership to teams and guidance to less experienced staff members Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in engineering and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.4 years or more experience with demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills through the preparation and presentation of design reviews, proposals and program status.4 years or more experience using Root Cause Analysis techniques.Ability to travel 10% is requiredAbility to obtain a Security Clearance from the US Government which requires US Citizenship. Preferred Additional Skills: Military customer experiencePMP certificationPrevious experience as a control account manager (CAM) in an earned value management system (EVMS) environment Previous experience with sensors Previous experience with space products
