About the Job
Major/Essential Functions
- Oversee room setups, working with event planners on room designs. Ensure the crew is adequately scheduled to complete room setups by the deadline and as planned. Greeting customers at events. Knowledge of the building environments including: AV, heat and air, lighting, outdoor areas and parking. Trustworthiness is of utmost importance since the position requires being on the personal property of University Administrators, Regents, and clients' private homes.
- Training and overseeing set-up staff, including temporary workers, full-time, and students to ensure that they follow all policies. Work hard at recognizing those that prove themselves and continue to work hard. Please coach or correct those that need improvement in private. Please make sure all employees you supervise are on task and efficient with their time and TTU community. Help with staff scheduling and paying attention to punch & punch-outs.
- Communication, cooperation, adaptability, and support for all Top Tier activities, including campus deliveries, equipment and truck maintenance, providing staff for catering and bartending as needed. Can be assigned special projects like basic construction, painting cleaning, and maintenance. Responsible for the Hance Chapel all custodial and basic maintenance needs.
- Be present for site visits, and offering suggestions. Handling client's decor, alcohol, and personal items. Being on call if required for emergency situations. Understanding and using the Hospitality work order system to communicate maintenance needs.
- Working knowledge of event set-up management principles and personal policies and procedures. Knowledge and essential experience in using computers. Safely operating over-sized vehicles on campus and in the community. Communicating clearly with staff, co-workers and customers.
- Background in audiovisual, inventory management and overseeing staff.
