Senior Staff Accountant/Assistant Controller
We are currently seeking candidates for a Senior Staff Accountant/Assistant Controller (hands on) at a regional bank with a location in Gardner, MA, 01440. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant accounting, general ledger reconciliation and month-end experience at a bank and/or a credit union.
Will support the Corporate Controller, primary responsibilities include journal entries, general ledger, reconciliations, financial statements, fixed assets, A/P, A/R, audits, and month and year-end close.
Yearly salary: Up to $100K (based on relevant work experience)
4 days on-site per week

Responsibilities:
- Perform Journal Entries and Adjustments
- Post daily cash activity
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Bank Statements Reconciliations
- Accounts Payable Reconciliations
- Reconcile General Ledger Accounts Reconciliations
- Financial statement preparation (subsidiary ledgers and identify variances)
- Assist in month-end close responsibilities
- Assist with policies and procedures
- Assist with implementing internal controls
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or equivalent preferred
- 5+ years’ experience in general accounting, reconciliation, and month end responsibilities
- Experience at a bank and/or credit union is required
- Ability to multi-task
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
