About the Job
The Staff Accountant responsibilities consist of handling the payroll procedures/standards for the hotel, oversee the income audit process and other accounting responsibilities.
Responsibilities:- Processes payroll for all hotel team members. Reviews accuracy of payroll, deductions and reports all discrepancies to supervisor.
- Prepares payroll reports, conducts annual record retention procedures, assist in processing quarterly, year-end closings.
- Process tips and gratuities.
- Enters requests for vacation, personal days, sick days, etc. ensuring the proper document are provided for accuracy and consistent practices.
- Sorts and verifies accuracy of Night Audit work, i.e. including reconciliation of banquet checks extensions, coding banquets at cost, review and route sales and promotion checks with back up.
- Responsible for full cycle Income Audit of all hotel income on a daily basis via Income Journal.
- Interface checks and submit a log of all manual checks to the Controller.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred.
- Accounting and Hotel experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to compile facts and figures.
- Ability to operate personal computer and calculator.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.
