Position Summary:
General Accounting duties including account analysis and reconciliation, client contract billings.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare monthly client billings for assigned contracts. Work with Operation Executives and Staff to prepare billings timely and accurately. May result in cost reclassifications and related journal entry documentation. Read state, federal, grant documents to ensure accounting complies with terms of respective documents.
- Accounts Receivable: monitor outstanding billings to ensure timely payment and or issue resolution.
- Receipt payments (other than campaign payments) into operating system for the Metro office.
- Serve as the Association Amazon Account coordinator, record invoices into accounting system and follow up with staff.
- Process, manage and reconcile petty cash and cash advance accounts.
- Month end support perform variety of month end financial closing activities including bank account reconciliations, other account reconciliations, journal entries, closing books, etc.
- Annual Budgeting and Forecasting maintain budget guidelines, assist Association with timely development and approval of budgets and forecasting. Includes system training on budget and forecasting modules.
- Maintain accounting of Association leases and fixed assets ensure documentation reconciles to accounting calculations and support annual audit with required documents and explanations.
- Assist with Annual Audit by preparing documentation, pulling audit evidence, documenting internal controls, etc.
- Assist with other accounting functions and Metro/Association special projects as needed.
- Attend all staff meetings, trainings and other YMCA functions as required by Supervisor.
- Maintain open lines of communication with participants, staff, and supervisor.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in accounting or other related field (completed or in-process). Experience can substitute for a degree.
- Minimum of 5 years accounting experience preferred.
- Knowledge of accounting procedures.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office products including advanced Excel skills, Word, and Outlook
- Detail oriented and the ability to handle multiple tasks; ability to prioritize work schedule to meet daily deadlines; excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Criminal Clearance: Including Fingerprints and background clearance
- Negative TB Test.
- Must attend a new employee orientation within the first 90 days of employment.
Working Conditions:
Environmental Factors: Indoor and outdoor facilities (e.g. kitchen and recreational sites); exposure to heat, cold, potentially hazardous chemicals, toxic materials; work on slippery or uneven surfaces. Noise level is usually moderate.
