Job Summary:
The Account is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports, and account reconciliations and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and the Company’s policies and procedures
- Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
- Responsible for preparation of journal entries, maintenance and reconciliation of Fixed Assets Accounting System, maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger accounts related to Fixed Assets, and preparation of specified accounting records for month-end closing and analysis.
- Establish a physical inventory process and accounting control procedures for Fixed Assets
- Prepare journal entries and related reconciliations for Prepaid Expenses and other asset accounts
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
- Research issues/questions from the tax department and other groups
- Interface with internal and external auditors and provide audit schedules and data
- Self-manage assigned workload distribution.
- Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of expenses.
- Establish a lease agreement accumulation process and accounting control procedures for Leases
- Able to preserve confidential information, self-sufficient problem solver, work with little or no supervision, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Update monthly/quarterly financial reporting as needed.
- Calculate monthly Commission Accruals
- Calculate quarterly field incentive payments
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional in promoting company culture & mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners
- Must possess proven problem solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral direction(s) to project personnel.
- Must have solid attention to detail to ensure accuracy of information.
- Must have proven skill level to interpret project documents, including but not limited to, timesheets, spreadsheets and billing documents.
- Must be able to effectively operate office equipment & computer devices commonly used in the industry.
Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:
- Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. CPA a plus
- Must have at least five (5) years general office or accounting experience, minimum of two (2) years of Fixed Assets experience
- Must possess strong General Ledger Skills
- Prefer a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a related telecommunications or construction accounting position.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project) and general accounting software.
- Must be able to effectively operate office equipment and computing devices commonly used in the industry.
- Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
- Must have demonstrated verifiable ability to identify a project, create a project filing system, develop detailed associated administrative tasks, and manage these for project final record keeping and audit.
