Description
Reporting to Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for interpreting accounting data, financial reporting, and other general accounting duties. This role will manage general accounting tasks while providing in-depth cost analysis and inventory management to support financial planning, operational efficiency, and cost control.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Cost Analysis:
- Conduct detailed cost analysis of company operations, including production, labor, and overhead costs.
- Prepare cost variance reports and recommend corrective actions to improve profitability.
- Collaborate with operations and finance teams to analyze and track budget performance.
- Provide cost-related insights to support pricing strategies, capital projects, and inventory management.
- Develop and maintain standard cost models for key processes.
- Participate in annual budgeting and forecasting, ensuring cost-effective decision-making.
Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory management processes, ensuring accurate tracking, valuation, and reporting of inventory levels.
- Implement and maintain inventory controls to minimize waste, discrepancies, and obsolescence.
- Perform regular inventory reconciliations and physical counts to ensure accurate stock levels.
- Analyze inventory variances and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Develop strategies for optimizing inventory turnover while maintaining adequate stock levels.
- Support supply chain and procurement teams in inventory planning and forecasting.
Financial Planning, Analysis, and Budgeting
- Analyze operating results and variances to plan
- Assist with the annual budget planning process
- Assist with the mid-term plan process
- Assist with updating the consolidated forecast
- Prepare segment P&L reports
- Support finance team with in-depth analysis
- Prepare month-end executive-level reports
- Assist with developing advanced reporting models to streamline monthly reporting and budgeting/forecasting process
Accounting Duties
- Prepare and review month-end journal entries
- Prepare year-end and quarterly PBC (Prepared by Client) schedules in support of audits and reviews
- Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts
- Assist with performing research on new accounting regulations that may impact the company
- Review financial statements for completeness and accuracy

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year institution in accounting or equivalent. A minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience with at least two years at a senior level.
