Job Overview
The EMC Engineer will support the Electrical business by independently performing testing and evaluation on a variety of products to the provisions of U.S., Canadian, and other International product EMC standards, writing reports, and communicating with clients.
Essential Duties
Train new engineers to conduct evaluation of products to determine compliance with applicable standard(s).
Read and determine applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the EUT (Equipment Under Test).
Take lead in scope expansion of the test lab; add new standards to the lab's scope in response to emerging technologies such as mmWave and EV
Develop work instructions, test procedures for emerging technology and new standard requirements
Read and understand schematics and manufacturing instructions.
Provide quotations and validate the project scope and sample applicability.
Establish test plans for complex EMC projects
Identify and acquire quotes of test instruments and equipment required for new standards
Participate in audits (such as ISO 17025, CB) to maintain scope and accreditation of the test lab.
Review EMC reports including TCB
Who We're Looking For
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Power Systems or Physics, Required
15+ years directly related experience, Required
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters.
Ability to travel, up to 25%
Preferred Requirements
TCB Reviewer
Participation in EMC standard committees
Prior project management experience preferred.
Hands on testing experience for EMC/EMI/RF regulatory compliance including FCC/ISED, supporting applications like BT, WLAN/Wifi, NFC, 802.11, LTE
Experience working in the RF/Wireless, TCB, ICT, Appliance, Electronics in product regulatory and/or product development capacities
Experience with using EMI receivers, RF amplifiers, Signal Generators, Surge Generators
Demonstrated experience with U.S., Canadian, and other International product safety standards, i.e., ANSI, CSA, UL, EN, IEC is a plus especially experience withwith EMC testing standards such asIEC 60601-1-2, IEC 61326-1 & -2, FCC subpart 15b, 61000 series, etc.

The base wage or salary range for this position is $80-$90 per hour.
