Job Description Summary:
The Senior Stormwater Compliance Coordinator is responsible for reviewing and conducting site visits to utility-scale renewable energy projects to ensure compliance with environmental permits, civil engineering plans and the SOLV Energy National Stormwater Compliance Program.
Home base may be Midwestern US.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:
- Performs onsite compliance inspection every four (4) to eight (8) weeks depending on season and issues occurring at the project.
- Effectively communicate to field team:
- Project specific Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) requirements
- State specific NPDES permit requirements.
- Follow SOLV Energy National Stormwater Compliance Program
- Follow owner contract requirements.
- For each project under their control, ensure:
- Project remains in compliance with all applicable permits and SWPPP requirements.
- Inspections are performed at the correct frequency.
- SWPPP Binder is continuously updated with appropriate documents.
- Corrective action logs are being completed appropriately (including date, time, and location)
- BMPs are properly installed per plan.
- BMPs are maintenance or repaired as described in State Specific NPDES Permit or State Administrative Code.
- Proactively provide corrective action recommendation where:
- Perimeter BMPs continuously need maintenance.
- Areas where soil erosion is occurring.
- Areas where federal or state inspectors have concerns.
- Areas next to environmentally sensitive areas
- Communicate effectively with Certified Inspectors and Superintendents and others in the field team.
- Utilize Sunscreen software to review inspection reports.
- Follow up with field team to ensure that corrective actions are corrected in the appropriate timeframe and required data uploaded to Sunscreen.
- Mentor Certified Inspectors and provide continuous on-site training, instruction, and guidance.
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:
- Ability to travel 80% to 100% of the time during the week to Utility Scale Solar Projects throughout the United States.
- Civil/SWPPP Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in Vegetation Management, Wetlands Delineation, Soil Science, Native Revegetation, and knowledge of regional seed mixes is highly preferable.
- Wetland Scientist, Soil Scientist, Botanist & Utility Vegetation Management personnel encouraged to apply.
- Must have recognized Stormwater Pollution Prevention Certification
- Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC)
- Certified Erosion, Sediment, and Stormwater Inspector (CESSWI)
- Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control (CISEC)
- Qualified Compliance Inspector of Stormwater (QCIS), or equivalent
- Experience working with a diverse workforce typically found on a construction site.
- Knowledge and experience in federal and state regulatory processes.
- Knowledge and experience working with state construction storm water programs.
- Knowledge and experience with soil grading practices
- Ability to read and understand civil plans and specifications.
- Strong sense of urgency and drive to be proactive.
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Ability to problem-solve and provide multiple solutions as needed.
- Ability to attend remote and in person meetings for multiple projects as necessary.
- Civil/Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience desirable.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, and ability to learn Workday and Sunscreen software.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Occasional climbing and carrying, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working in high exposed places.
- Must be able to tolerate occasional exposure to dust, dirt, pollen, heavy equipment exhausts, and other airborne particulates on construction sites.
- Must be able to tolerate occasional exposure to inclement weather and temperatures.
- The noise intensity level is medium to high.
- Must possess sufficient mobility with or without assistive devices to access all natural features, structures, and improvements on solar sites subject to inspection for compliance with state specific stormwater permitting requirements and SWPPP Erosion and Sediment Control Plans.
- Must have sufficient visual acuity with or without corrective lenses to visually inspect construction sites for evidence of soil erosion and sedimentation in discharge water.
- Must have sufficient auditory acuity with or without audiological appliances to hear warning sounds signaling movement of vehicles and equipment on construction sites.
- Must be able to descend to and ascend from ground level to inspect soil and hydrogeological site features.

$ 68,068.00 - $85,113.60
