Overview:The Senior Manager, Strategic Tender Management, is responsible for managing, administering and deploying winning global pricing strategies to increase AIT's revenue and GP. Responsible for supporting and managing all customer RFQ's globally and integrating with AIT product leadership globally to maximize win percentages for our sales force and their clients. Perform complex analysis, produce supply chain solutions, and implement these solutions on time and within budgeted expectations. Support the Global operations team in accomplishing its key financial, service, and quality objectives.
Responsibilities:- Lead/Prepare/Support Global Air & Ocean freight RFP/RFQ/RFI responses within the agreed time lines, ensure high quality and consistency of data accuracy.
- Align with global account owners and customer for actual service requirement and develop strategy and approach for each tender received.
- Identify opportunities and communicate through to Global Product teams and local offices to ensure the right pricing is being prepared & sourced.
- Collate and prepare Management Reports across the Global for business opportunities and overview. Ensure delivery and execution of the tender management process.
- Interpret/Analyze customer requirements to create estimates.
- Coordinate with respective global departments to consolidate the pricing and informative data for the RFP submission.
- Follow up and comply with internal procedure to continuously improve overall communication flow between internal and external parties. Prepare Cost Analysis for tenders.
- Prepare competitive BIDS, RFQ, responses for potential customers within tight time lines.
- Queries and resolves all questions and issues between internal and external customers.
- Ensure profitability studies are prepared using the correct cost and financial information.
- Establish continuous improvement methods to increase margin and profit.
- Maintain all quote documentation with accurate pricing and configurations. Act as key pricing expert in support of sales force
- Proactively manage and initiate contract review with corporate when contracts are expiring with proper lead times prior to expiration. Maintain a comprehensive Bid calendar.
- Manages the day-to-day reporting requirements the pricing and analysis function, and supports the VP of Account Management and VP’s of Operations in managing and monitoring the QMS, KPI’s and optimization of network
- Work closely with operations and field stations to implement bids, and utilize the proper carriers, systems and strategies to maximize the benefits forecasted in the bid.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Required
Experience Qualifications
- 7-10 years tender management and/or pricing experience in all Global Products Required and
- 7-10 years experience in managing teams Required and
- 7-10 years experience in analytics, data management, or business optimization roles Required and
- 7-10 years experience Business to Business sales experience, Account Management or Sales experience in Supply Chain Industry Preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of MS business suite/TMS/AS 400. (High proficiency)
- Demonstrated ability to understand estimates, accounting ledgers, spec sheets and pro forma financial statements. Ability to analyze and manage P&L. (High proficiency)
- Excellent math skills and accuracy in pricing by segment cost and roll up costs. (High proficiency)
- Understand rates, ratios, percentages, gross and nets, sales markups, margins and related computations (High proficiency)
- Strong teamwork and communication skills in a Global Culture (High proficiency)
- Ability to build and explain complex spreadsheet models and logistics strategy to internal and external customers (High proficiency)
