Overview:
Climate United Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (“Climate United”), is seeking a full-time Senior Strategist, Digital Communications to lead digital communications efforts at Climate United. The Senior Strategist will be instrumental in shaping and executing digital strategies across channels to amplify the impact of Climate United and the National Clean Investment Fund program, a pivotal program driving an equitable clean energy transition. This Senior Officer level role will report to the Director of Communications and collaborate closely with other Climate United teams to ensure cohesive messaging and branding across all digital channels. This role will also lead the day-to-day management of our relationship with external digital communications agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement digital strategy for Climate United, in consultation with the Communications Director and Chief Partnership and Strategy Officer.
Build and engage audiences across digital channels: social media, audio, video, website, and email.
Draft compelling weekly digital content and develop digital toolkits for Climate United coalition members, sub-awardees, grantees, and partners.
Provide narrative support to Climate United’s communications efforts, helping to tell the story of an equitable clean energy transition.
Foster collaboration with internal teams, coalition members, and external partners to maintain a consistent digital presence, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values.
Utilize data analysis to monitor, report, and optimize the performance of digital communications, providing strategic recommendations for continuous improvement.
Manage design and content contracts effectively, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational standards.
Required Qualifications:
Five to eight years of experience, and a proven track record of success in a digital communications role.
Extensive experience in digital communications, campaigns, marketing, or public relations, preferably within the climate, green finance, or financial sectors.
Proficiency in digital marketing, email marketing, social media management, design, and content creation, with a keen eye for crafting impactful images, narratives, and messages.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, coupled with the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and engaging manner.
Experience directly managing external agencies and consultants on complex, fast-moving projects.
Strong analytical skills and experience using digital marketing tools, with the ability to report and leverage data insights for informed decision-making and performance optimization.
Passionate about the mission and vision of Climate United and committed to driving justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in the clean energy transition.
Demonstrates intellectual curiosity, integrity, and a collaborative mindset, contributing to a positive team-oriented culture.
Must have experience with digital tools, CRMs, and CMSs such as Campaign Monitor, Salesforce, Pardot, Google Analytics, WordPress, and similar platforms.
Experience with graphic design and content creation tools is a plus.
Experience with influencer marketing is also a plus.
Willingness to travel up to 20%, primarily within the US, and the ability to work from the Washington, DC, or New York, NY areas, or be willing to come into an office quarterly for team collaboration.
