Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) is looking for a STRUCTURAL STEEL, WELDING, BOLTING INSPECTOR (CWI) / SENIOR ENGINEER TECHNICIAN to join our Building & Construction team in Waukesha, WI.

What you'll do:
- Inspect general construction and structural steel erection for building sites, as well as occasional plant inspections.
- Perform visual inspections on welded products in progress and completed jobs
- Inspect weld jobs for defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut etc.
- Read construction documents to determine project details and specifications.
- Neatly and accurately complete all required paperwork, including daily reports, test reports and timesheets - in a timely manner.
- Record and reports test results after performing mathematical calculations, making graphical solutions and graphical representations.
- Communicate orally and in writing with engineers and staff members, agency representatives, contractors and business and property owners.
- Perform maintenance/cleaning of equipment and calibration and adjustments, as needed.
- Adhere to construction site safety guidelines and promotes a safe working environment.
- Issue and follow up on non-conformances until the close out.
- Reviews all welded products or components and provides input to the decision of whether to accept or reject the product
- Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers
- May also, operates testing equipment and conducts testing, (example: Soil, concrete or other) and provides assessment of data through reporting.
- Must be punctual and reliable with good attention to detail.
What it takes to be successful in this role:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Technical Degree in Welding is preferred
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification with D1.1 experience is preferred
- ICC Certified Structural Steel & Bolting Inspector certification is preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience required
- Construction materials testing experience preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and understand, and interpret tolerances
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications
- Must be able to receive, understand, and execute written and verbal directions
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal & written communication
- Must be able to work well independently and with others
- Must be able to periodically work off shifts and overtime
- Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record (required)
- Ability to work at heights, climb ladders, bend, crawl, push and pull, stretch, sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
