RIS I is the delivery of regional IT services to the end user. We offer support of end user devices including desktop, workplace peripherals, and voice and video devices. We support local and campus area networks, including wireless and cable plant.
AT&T has an opening for a Senior System Engineer to support the End User Services team. The chosen candidate will be responsible for working with End User Services Management in analyzing hardware specifications and system//subsystem requirements, conceiving and documenting practical designs for hardware components under the purview of the service support team to include workstations, laptops, monitors, printers, user interface devices, and special processors; Prepare functional requirements and specifications for hardware acquisitions; Prepare and oversee the executions of test plans; Ensure that problems with operational hardware have been properly identified and solutions will satisfy the user’s requirements; Assist with preparing installation guides, field test procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Candidate must be able to work independently and at times with little supervision.
Description of Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Providing hardware engineering expertise to analyze complex hardware systems, hardware design, architecture, network design, and other technical hardware issues.
- Providing hardware maintenance support, both preventative and remedial.
- Deploying, Installing, and implementing hardware.
- Look for ticketing trends and offer solutions.
- Help conduct meetings with OEMs and VARs.
- Preparing specifications for hardware by analyzing documented and derived system requirements.
- Preparing engineering plans and site technical design packages.
- Preparing Functional and performance test plans based document requirements.
- Configuring (and documents configuration of) computers, networking devices, and various peripheral equipment. Preparing site installations and test reports.
- Ensuring that problems have been properly identified and solutions will satisfy the user’s requirements.
- Providing specific input to the hardware components of system design to include end-user devices, servers, networking devices, data storage devices, and specialized processors.
- Support the Technical Operations Manager with reoccurring reports ( OPR, MPR, and Award Fee).
- Support End User Services Manager in organizing, and prioritize desktop engineering efforts.
- Providing leadership and guidance to junior engineers and systems administrators in the performance of the daily technical duties.
- At times will be called upon to backfill the EU manager during his/her times of absence.
- Provide support in writing Technical Insertions.
- Coordinating Service Improvement activities (People, Process, Technologies) FACARS and problem management.
Required Clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph. (#ts/sci) (#polygraph)
Required Qualifications: Fourteen (14) years of experience as an SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
- Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Must be willing to support after hour activities.
- Must have a minimum of Security+ certification.
- In order to be considered for this position, you must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
Desired Qualifications: Demonstrated Experience in the following areas:
• User Endpoint support and troubleshooting.
• Requirements analysis and Solution Design.
• Test plan development and execution.
• Creating and maintain documentation for both end users and system administrators.
