Position Summary: The Systems Engineer at Barnhart will be responsible for maintaining and managing the infrastructure and operations of the IT data center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide resolution to IT incidents
• Provide technical migrations
• Support Information Security and data privacy best practices
• Install, configure and maintain infrastructure for server, storage and network devices
• Key contributor in disaster recovery through planning, testing and execution.
• Develop and maintain documentation of software versions, physical infrastructure, cabling layouts and rack configurations.
• Commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement of the data center environment and all of IT.
• Work with project managers to plan resources and set up timelines for projects
• Develop and execute against project plans to implement software and hardware installation and upgrade projects.

• Strong knowledge of and experience supporting VMware, Linux, Windows and centralized storage concepts.
• Experience in proactive monitoring of physical and virtualization as well as capacity planning.
• Experience with Network Administration, Security best practices and troubleshooting
• Designing and implementing: Systems and tools, including hardware and software
• Experience installing, maintaining and upgrading Operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
• Experience managing backup and recovery
• Strong knowledge of and experience supporting Information Security and data privacy best practices
• Experience planning and implementing system automation for efficiency

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5+ years experience supporting production environment and building and deploying both physical and cloud infrastructures.
