Job Title: Microsoft 365 Senior Systems Engineer
Objective:
The Microsoft 365 Senior Systems Engineer with a specialization in security and Intune, will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and overseeing Microsoft 365 and Office 365 solutions, focusing on high-level engineering, advanced security, and strategic configuration to support enterprise productivity and compliance. This role requires extensive knowledge of Microsoft 365 architecture, security frameworks, and mobile device management, including design, deployment, and automation of solutions that align with organizational goals.
Technical Skills:
- Microsoft 365 Engineering: Deep expertise in engineering and optimizing Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and security measures like Conditional Access, DLP, and MFA to meet enterprise standards.
- Azure Active Directory & Identity Management: Advanced experience with Azure AD, Conditional Access, Identity Governance, and role-based access control, with a focus on integrating and managing complex hybrid identity environments.
- Office 365 Security & Compliance: In-depth understanding of security best practices within the Microsoft ecosystem, including secure score optimization, Insider Risk Management, threat protection, data loss prevention, and compliance configurations.
- Enterprise Mobile Device Management (Intune): Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft Intune for mobile device and application management, policy design, endpoint compliance, and secure deployment of corporate-owned and BYOD devices.
- Windows Server & Cloud Infrastructure: Strong experience with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Azure infrastructure, with a focus on Azure AD Connect, Azure Virtual Machines, conditional access, and secure hybrid cloud setups.
- Automation & Scripting: Advanced PowerShell scripting skills to drive automation across Microsoft 365 services and streamline system integrations, monitoring, and reporting.
- Data Protection & Recovery: Architecting and implementing enterprise-level backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions, including Azure Backup and Site Recovery strategies.
- Network Security Integration: Comprehensive knowledge of network security principles, including VPNs, firewall rules, and secure access configurations, to ensure Microsoft 365 and Azure services are protected across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Advanced Troubleshooting & Optimization: High-level diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities to resolve escalated issues and implement improvements for operational efficiency.
Experience:
- 6+ years of experience in high-level Microsoft 365 engineering and some architecture of O365 environments.
- Certifications (preferred):
- Microsoft Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Professional
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Other relevant Microsoft or cloud architecture certifications (e.g., MCSE, CISSP).
Leadership & Soft Skills:
- Strategic Problem-Solving: Capable of designing complex solutions that align with enterprise goals and navigating technical challenges with innovative approaches.
- Technical Communication: Ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, supporting clear decision-making.
- Project Leadership: Skilled in managing end-to-end infrastructure projects, including planning, implementation, testing, and continuous improvement phases.
- Continuous Learning & Adaptability: Eagerness to stay updated on industry trends, security advancements, and best practices in cloud and hybrid architectures.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Additional Considerations:
- ITIL Knowledge: Familiarity with ITIL frameworks for streamlined service delivery in multi-site or distributed environments.
- Enterprise-Level Remote Support Experience: Proficiency with remote management tools to maintain uptime and efficiency in global or multi-site infrastructures.
