About the Job
We are a well-established, small CPA firm with 15 dedicated professionals, and we are looking to expand our team by hiring an experienced remote Senior Tax Accountant to support complex tax preparation, tax return reviews, IRS resolution, and oversee bookkeeping processes.
As a Senior Accountant, you will bring your 5+ years of accounting experience to our firm, focusing on providing expert tax services to our diverse clientele. You will be responsible for managing complex tax situations, resolving IRS issues, reviewing tax returns, and overseeing bookkeeping processes prepared by staff. Your role will also involve mentoring junior accountants and collaborating with our partners to ensure client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Accountant, you will bring your 5+ years of accounting experience to our firm, focusing on providing expert tax services to our diverse clientele. You will be responsible for managing complex tax situations, resolving IRS issues, reviewing tax returns, and overseeing bookkeeping processes prepared by staff. Your role will also involve mentoring junior accountants and collaborating with our partners to ensure client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, businesses, and trusts.
- Review tax filings and financial books prepared by staff for accuracy and compliance.
- Address and resolve IRS notices and other tax-related issues.
- Provide tax planning strategies to clients to minimize tax liabilities.
- Assist with audits and other special tax projects as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax regulations and ensure compliance for all clients.
- Oversee and review bookkeeping processes, including QuickBooks Online, to ensure accuracy.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior accountants within the firm.
- Collaborate with partners to support client relationships and firm growth.
Qualifications:**
- CPA certification is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in tax preparation and accounting.
- Experience with IRS representation and resolution.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online and reviewing financial books.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive starting salary of $90,000 - $100,000/year, based on experience.
