About the Job
Jefferson Wells has a direct hire opportunity in the Detroit MI area. Our client is seeking an experienced ( 5+ years minimum ) senior accountant skilled in taxes. You will do tax work in the following practice areas: Â individual, corporation, partnership. After tax season you will be part of the accounting team, delivering exceptional results to the clients of the firm.
Some details:
- Public firm experience of at least 5 years
- This is 100 % on site, limited client travel
- Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals and corporations.
- Analyze financial statements and records to ensure accurate tax reporting.
- Conduct tax research to stay updated on current tax laws and regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax forecasts and projections.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax authorities as needed.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in tax compliance and reporting.
- Assist in tax audits and responding to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Stay informed about changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
