We are searching for a seasoned and meticulous Senior Tax Accountant to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent position, providing an exciting opportunity to delve into the world of finance and accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing complex tax returns, developing tax strategies, and ensuring compliance with state and federal tax laws. This role requires a thorough understanding of tax laws and regulations, a meticulous eye for detail, and a knack for interpreting complex financial data. The ideal candidate will have a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and review complex tax returns, including federal and state income tax, sales tax, property tax, and franchise tax.
2. Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liability and maximize profitability.
3. Ensure compliance with state and federal tax laws and regulations.
4. Conduct research on tax laws and regulations to stay updated on changes that could affect the company’s tax obligations.
5. Provide expert advice on tax-related issues, including tax planning, tax liabilities, and potential tax savings.
6. Collaborate with the accounting team to prepare financial statements and reports.
7. Assist in internal and external audits.
8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all tax-related documents.
9. Liaise with tax authorities and represent the company in any tax audits or disputes.
10. Provide guidance and training to junior tax accountants.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Tax Accountant or a similar role in the accounting and finance industry.
4. Extensive knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and procedures.
5. Proficiency in tax software and databases.
6. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
7. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
8. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
11. High level of integrity and professionalism.
12. Experience with business returns is a significant advantage.
