We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Senior Tax Accountant to join our fast-paced legal team. This exciting role offers the opportunity to provide crucial financial expertise to our organization, helping us to maintain accuracy, efficiency, and transparency in our financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and reconciling accounts, tax planning, payroll, and sales tax returns. This position requires a minimum of five years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Tax Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
1. Reviewing and reconciling accounts on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
2. Developing and implementing effective tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
3. Managing the payroll process, including the calculation of wages, benefits, and deductions, the preparation of payroll checks, and the resolution of any payroll-related issues.
4. Preparing and filing sales tax returns, ensuring accurate calculation of tax liabilities and timely submission of returns.
5. Collaborating with other members of the finance team to streamline accounting processes and improve financial reporting.
6. Providing financial information and advice to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
7. Staying up-to-date with the latest accounting standards, tax laws, and industry trends.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Tax Accountant position will possess the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of three years of experience in accounting, with a focus on account reconciliation, tax planning, payroll, and sales tax returns.
3. A CPA designation or CPA in progress is required.
4. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax laws.
5. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
6. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex financial data.
8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information in a clear and understandable manner.
9. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
