Position Summary
Senior Tax Analyst supports the income tax compliance and financial reporting. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, GAAP financial reporting and analysis of income taxes, coordination of tax compliance services by the third-party service providers and recommendation of improvements of tax processes.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
* Assist with the ASC 740 quarterly and annual income tax provision
* Prepare book-to-tax adjustments and compile supporting schedules relative to the Company's income/franchise tax filings; oversee externally prepared tax returns for completeness and accuracy
* Assist with monitoring and assessing the impact of tax law changes on the Company's operating activities
* Participate on special projects, including research of tax laws, preparation of analysis for alternatives strategies and documentation of findings and conclusions
* Perform monthly analysis for tax accounts, including reconciliation to tax provision analysis
* Prepare quarterly estimated tax payments and year-end extension requests
* Assist with tax examinations and inquiries from taxing authorities
* Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
* 5 - 7 years of experience with a Big 4 or mid-sized public accounting firm, or similar experience with a publicly traded or privately held company, with concentration in ASC740 accounting for income taxes
* Solid understanding of GAAP and Tax accounting principles
* Broad exposure to Federal and State corporate income tax rules and regulations
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Proficient computer skills with knowledge of tax technology, systems and software matters (e.g. Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE Tax Provision software)
* Strong quantitative and analytical skills
* Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
* Ability to perform research and analyze complex issues
* Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a time sensitive environment
* Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
