Clarivate is looking to bring on a talented Senior Tax Analyst to join our growing, global Tax team! While ensuring that the tax software is properly maintained and functioning in an efficient manner, you will primarily focus on income tax compliance and reporting, research, planning, and other special projects. Exhibiting strong analytical and accounting skills, you will possess a solid background in federal and state tax compliance and a demonstrated research ability. Working in collaboration with the tax accounting team, you will support the department in all areas of process improvement and compliance with SOX and other controls.
About You - experience, education, skills, and accomplishments...
2+ years relevant tax experience in public accounting or industry
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA considered in lieu of the Accounting/Finance concentration)
Experience in accounting for income taxes under ASC 740 and/or IAS 12
Federal Income Tax Compliance experience
It would be great if you also had...
CPA and/or MST preferred
Master's degree in accounting preferred
Corporate tax provision preparation software (i.e. OneSource highly preferred), and online tax research services such as Checkpoint or CCH
What will you be doing in this role?...
Take ownership of the tax filings, payments and associated processes for designated regions
Prepare and review income tax workpapers to support tax returns including book/tax differences, apportionment, and other supporting schedules
Research tax issues, analyze federal and state laws to interpret how they apply to the company and prepare technical documentation to communicate tax issues
Assist with tax audits by compiling requested information and documentation
Balance sheet reconciliations (working closely with the local controllers)
Support the Managers with identifying, implementing and documenting process and system improvements
Coordinate with external service providers on non-US subsidiaries in LATAM and Canada, including processing payment requests as well as initial review of income and withholding tax calculations
Manage the department's cloud-based file system
About the Team
The Global Tax Team is comprised of over 40 tax professionals worldwide. As a member of the US Income Tax Team, you will collaborate with approximately 10-15 colleagues to fulfill the company's tax reporting and compliance requirements. This role reports directly to the Tax Manager and provides the opportunity to work with tax leadership and other departments within Clarivate, contributing to strategic initiatives and ensuring compliance with US tax regulations.
Hours of Work
Full Time, EST time zone
This is a hybrid role working 2-3 days a week in our Ann Arbor office location
