We are seeking a skilled and motivated Tax Accountant to join this expanding team.
Senior Tax Associate
As a Tax Associate, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns, providing tax planning strategies, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. You will work closely with clients, building strong relationships and offering expert advice tailored to their unique financial situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
- Conduct detailed tax research and analysis, staying up-to-date on current tax laws and regulations.
- Provide proactive tax planning and strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial outcomes for clients.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and other related reports.
- Collaborate with clients to gather necessary documentation and information for accurate and timely tax filings.
- Respond to tax notices and inquiries from tax authorities on behalf of clients.
- Participate in client meetings to discuss tax-related matters and provide guidance.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the tax department.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of client tax filings and related documents.
- Mentor and assist junior staff, contributing to their professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA certification preferred. - 2-4 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably within a public accounting firm.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., Lacerte, UltraTax, ProSeries) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on client service.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
