Senior Tax Consultant Opportunity in Irvine, CA
Vaco Resources is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tax Consultant to join our client’s dynamic team in Irvine, CA. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned tax professional to take on a pivotal role in a leading multi-national company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of global quarterly and annual tax provisions and financial disclosures.
- Manage worldwide U.S. GAAP income tax reporting for all foreign entities.
- Ensure an effective internal control environment for compliance with financial reporting standards and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations.
- Conduct preparation of global cash tax forecast and analysis.
- Direct the tax team in preparing the U.S. tax provision and compliance for corporate and partnership income tax returns, including US foreign disclosure returns.
- Mentor and develop the tax staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Oversee North America federal, state, and foreign income tax audits.
- Coordinate tax-related expenses and operations with the international tax team.
- Provide technical research and consultation to ensure proper accounting treatment for all transactions.
- Engage in projects aimed at minimizing tax burden and reducing the company’s effective tax rate and cash taxes.
- Implement new tax software and process changes as required.
- Support M&A transactions, integration activities, and special projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Master’s degree in Business Taxation, or Juris Doctor.
- At least 10 years of experience with Big 4 or equivalent, or in a large corporate tax department.
- Proficiency in ASC 740 (Income Tax Accounting), C Corp, and Partnership Taxation.
- Strong command of corporate federal and state income tax law and corporate indirect taxes.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel, and OneSource tax software.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Exceptional leadership, management, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and statutory reporting requirements.
- Advanced tax and accounting research capabilities.
- Experience with tax research software.
