Role: Senior Tax Consultant
Location: Remote with occasional travel to Fort Wayne, IN
Systems: QuickBooks & Drake
We are seeking a Senior Tax Consultant with experience in the agriculture industry, working with farmers, suppliers, and equipment companies. The ideal candidate will have expertise in preparing federal, state, and local tax returns for LLCs, S-Corps, Partnerships, Individuals, and small C-Corps. Occasional travel to the office near Fort Wayne, Indiana for client meetings is required.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare complex tax returns, including federal, state, and local returns
- Oversee and schedule work for staff preparers
- Review staff-prepared returns and provide feedback
- Assist staff with tax preparation questions (via phone or chat)
- Identify and recommend process improvements
- Communicate missing information to client managers
- Manage status updates of tax returns
- Research and address technical tax issues
- Respond to IRS notices and lead specific compliance projects
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in public accounting
- Experience leading a team and reviewing tax returns
- Enrolled Agent (EA) certification required, CPA preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Familiarity with agricultural industry clients is a plus
