This is a permanent position where you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the tax department. We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Senior Tax Manager to join our finance team. This is a permanent position where you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the tax department. You will be responsible for handling complex tax issues, providing strategic tax planning, conducting tax research, and ensuring compliance with tax laws. Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the tax department, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws and regulations.
- Handle complex tax issues related to HNWI individual tax, pass-through entities, and HNW tax.
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
- Conduct thorough tax research to stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations.
- Utilize CCH Axcess software for tax preparation, review, and research.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to junior tax staff, fostering a supportive and positive work environment.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors during audits and reviews.
- Collaborate with management to identify and mitigate tax risks and opportunities.
- Ensure the timely and accurate filing of tax returns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA certification is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax manager role, preferably in the finance industry.
- Proven experience with HNWI individual tax, pass-through entities, HNW tax, and tax planning.
- Proficiency in CCH Axcess software.
- Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
- Exceptional leadership and mentoring skills with a proven track record of developing staff.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
