Role Overview:
The Senior Tax Manager will play a crucial role in the firm's tax services department, responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of tax planning, compliance, and advisory services for esteemed clientele. As a seasoned tax professional, you will collaborate closely with wealth management advisors, providing insightful tax strategies to optimize clients' financial positions and meet their unique wealth preservation and growth goals.
Responsibilities:
- Client Relationship Management
- Tax Planning and Strategy:
- Develop comprehensive tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax benefits for clients.
- Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations, proactively advising clients on tax-saving opportunities and potential risks.
- Tax Compliance:
- Oversee the preparation and review of complex individual, trust, and business tax returns to ensure accuracy and adherence to tax laws.
- Ensure timely filing of all required tax returns and assist clients in meeting tax deadlines.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.
- Conduct training sessions to enhance the team's technical skills and knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
- Client Advisory Services:
- Provide expert guidance on complex tax matters, estate planning, charitable giving, and other financial decisions to clients.
- Analyze and present tax implications for various financial transactions and investment strategies.
- Tax Audits and Resolution:
- Represent clients during tax audits, working with tax authorities to resolve any issues or disputes effectively.
- Offer guidance and support to clients in managing tax-related controversies or inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree a plus.
- CPA license required.
- Proven experience of at least 8-10 years in tax planning, compliance, and advisory services within a wealth management or CPA firm.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of mentoring and developing tax professionals.
- Outstanding communication skills to interact with clients and articulate tax strategies clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Adept at using tax software and financial tools to streamline tax processes.
