About the Job
Our client is an innovative manufacturing organization and they are seeking a Senior Technical Accountant to join their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$110k – $115k plus 12% Bonus
Position Overview:
The Senior Technical Accountant will work closely with the Technical Accounting team and Corporate Finance team on accounting and other matters that are significant to the organization
Typical projects for the Senior Technical Accountant will include financing matters, mergers and acquisition accounting, adoption of new accounting standards, assisting with internal controls, internal restructurings, support of global finance operations in the application of U.S
GAAP, and maintenance of global accounting policies.
Responsibilities of the Senior Technical Accountant:
Merger and acquisition activities, including contract review, opening balance sheet procedures, valuation procedures, memorandum preparation, and post-acquisition accounting.
Accounting and recordation of new and existing minority investments including contract review, equity method accounting, ASC 321 accounting, and impairment procedures.
Completion of hedge accounting and review of financial instruments, inclusive of valuation review, journal entry preparation, and footnote disclosures.
Development, periodic updates, and maintenance of new and existing accounting policies Review and implementation of new accounting pronouncements.
Complex transactional activity with US GAAP guidance to ensure proper recordation into the local general ledger.
Participate in the internal controls program, including the performance of selected financial reporting controls, assistance with documentation of any deficiencies, and communicating with global control owners.
Review of restructuring charges, interest charges, intangible asset and goodwill impairment, and M&A-type expenses.
Contribute to the 10-Q and 10-K financial statement preparation, tie-out, and related audit requests for documentation support.
Qualifications for the Senior Technical Accountant:
4+ years of relevant work experience (can be a mix of public accounting and/or industry).
Strong knowledge of U.S
GAAP.
Excellent verbal, written, listening, computer, quantitative, and presentation skills, including fluent English and advanced Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment / across multiple groups.
Able to successfully multitask the management and delivery of multiple complex projects with key stakeholders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Proven adaptive capability and demonstrated familiarity with organizational change.
Operates at the highest standards of business ethics, honesty, personal integrity, and professionalism.
Ability to organize, analyze, and interpret data, records, and reports.
Strong analytical skills and a problem-solver.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with Accounting/ Finance concentration is required.
MBA and / or CPA is preferred.
