RiverTech is looking for a Senior Technical Writer responsible for providing communications support to ensure program alignment of internal and external stakeholder engagements within the current mission and priorities. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!
Responsibilities:- Develops, writes, and edits documents to include SOPs, procedures, manuals, reports, and policy guides.
- Research and gathers appropriate information for inclusion in documentation and deliverables.
- Assists authors or SMEs in improving written materials and documents focusing on consistency, clarity, and succinctness as well as sentence structure, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Consults relevant information sources to obtain information and verify pertinent guidelines and regulations governing deliverables.
- Applies knowledge of effective writing principles and practices.
- Ensures all documents adhere to organizational standards, compliance requirements, and best practices.
- Updates and maintains existing documentation to reflect changes in policies, procedures, or technologies.
- Collaborates with various stakeholders, to gather information and ensure accuracy.
- Collaborates with other stakeholders and subject matter experts to create quality content, review written materials and revise for clarity, grammar, style, content and formatting to ensure documents meets CISA guidelines.
- Translates complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documents.
- Performs technical editing and quality assurance of all documents.
- An active Secret Clearance is required for consideration
- Bachelor's Degree (master’s degree preferred) in a relevant field (e.g., public policy, communications or public affairs, English, journalism, creative writing, technical writing, business and administration etc.).
- A minimum of 10 years of technical writing and editing experience on policy directives, concepts of operations, policy guides and SOPs.
- Experience using the CISA House Style Guide and CISA Writing Style Guide
- Experience writing communications for executive senior leadership.
- Experience with creating and maintaining government records associated with cybersecurity activities, documentation, and SOPs.
- Proven ability to distill complex information into clear, concise text.
- Self-motivated and focused on delivering outcomes; ability to work both independently and within team setting in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity communications language and subject matter (preferred).
- Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office/Suite applications, etc.
- Excellent written and oral communication, risk-management, and problem-solving skills.
Physical Demands:
- Work is performed in an office environment.
- Required to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
- Required to use a computer throughout the work.
