About the Job
Qualifications:
- Completion of a state indentured tool and die apprenticeship (Journeyman card).
- At least 10 years of experience of tooling in plastics, rubber, or die cast fields.
- They must be proficient with CAD and CAM software, but there are no specific requirements on what software.
- They must also be able to program CNC and understand high precision molds.
- Experience working with plastic molds preferred.
- Experience with repairing and preventative maintenance of molds.
- Troubleshooting and reverse engineering experience.
- Experience with toolroom equipment such as a mills, surface grinders, and lathes.
- Experience working with hot systems preferred.
- Basic understanding of injection molding process, equipment, and materials.
- Lock out/Tag out and Forklift experience.
Responsibilities:
- Full understanding of CAD/CAM systems with the ability to program complex CNC machining requirements on precision molds.
- Trouble-shooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of plastic molds and hot systems.
- Daily use of toolroom equipment such as a mills, surface grinders, and lathes to facilitate mold repair or improvement.
- Repair or request replacement parts, tooling or hardware as needed to maintain replacement inventory.
- Set-up and operate all hand-tool equipment along with manual toolroom machines.
- Coordinate with our internal new tooling group for specific operations or needs.
- Understand and usage of toolroom inspection equipment as required.
- Know and follow all Companys safety rules, such as safe work practices and standard operating procedures.
- Serve as a good role model to employees for safe work practices and behavior by conducting yourself professionally, keeping in mind your own safety and the safety of others.
