Position Summary
Facilitates insurance education curriculum to support technical development for ERIE Employees and Agents. Supports strategic initiatives by analyzing performance results and assessing training needs. Develops and writes curriculum for delivery within the Technical Learning Center.
- The candidate successful candidate will be working as a Property Trainer in the Property Lab at the TLC (Technical Learning Center).
- Technical knowledge pertaining to property adjusting is strongly preferred. Technical knowledge pertaining to homeowner construction, building materials, repairs and estimating is preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
- In conjunction with more experienced training specialists, delivers and facilitates specialized technical training to Employees and Agents. Learns and applies delivery methods. Partners with contracted vendors to deliver co-facilitated training as required.
- Creates new models and props utilizing industry expertise to demonstrate complex technical techniques.
- Recommends training program modifications specific to the technical learning center environment.
- Assists with project management on various training projects. Builds sustainable curriculum that links to current offerings. Ensures consistency of training delivered at the technical training center.
- Utilizes various technologies in the development and delivery of training programs.
- Maintains and applies current knowledge of advanced trends affecting the insurance industry and/or adult learning.
- Adheres to budgets and company and travel guidelines.

Qualifications
Educational Equivalencies Bachelor's degree in related field; or Associate's degree in related field and two years related experience; or High school diploma and four years related experience. Five years of experience in Material Damage or Property claims required. Previous experience in training, consulting, or a related field, preferred. Proficiency in the use of electronic estimating systems preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint preferred. Insurance designations preferred. Multi-line claims experience (Material Damage and Property) preferred. Travel, including overnight stays, required. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
