About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Underwriting Director for our Commercial division to lead develop new insurance products.
Location
This is a hybrid role in our downtown Austin,Texas office.

What You'll Do
- Lead the commercial underwriting team, providing strategic direction and guidance to ensure profitable growth.
- Develop and implement underwriting policies, procedures, and best practices for commercial lines.
- Produce excellent loss ratios with best in class underwriting strategies
- Collaborate with senior management to align underwriting strategies with overall business objectives.
- Analyze and assess risks for large and complex commercial accounts, making informed decisions to drive business success.
- Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to inform underwriting decisions.
- Maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and clients to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial underwriting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience with perils such as hail, hurricane, wildfire, winter storm, earthquake, flood and more.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance products and risk management.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or equivalent are preferred.
